Best Week Ever!!

This week was so great!!! So we are still teaching Dwight and he is the 80 yr old. He is really progressing! Cool story that happened with him this week... we went to teach him and he said he had a concern with paying tithing but we hadn't even taught tithing yet.. he said that he was really low on money and wouldn't be able to pay if he was a member. he sells trusts and he said that work was going really slow and that he hadn't sold a trust since may and he really needed money.. he told us he had $100 in one account and $3 in the other. Well that day we taught him about tithing and the blessing that come from it. We went back a few days later and he said " I am seeing so many blessing from you guys coming here.. I haven't sold a trust since may and I just sold 3 this week, so now I have enough money to pay my bills and go visit my daughter for the holidays" :) he was so excited!! Also this week we had stake conference! and guess what..... MY Recent convert David Thompson Spoke!!!!!!! it was so cool :) he talked about the pivotal moment of his conversion and he told the story of me and my comp coming to his house and then when he received a testimony that Joseph smith was a prophet and how he called us at the library :) he also talked about how right now is still a pivotal moment in his conversion because every decision he makes effects his progression in the church! he is so awesome!! I was so excited to see him :) Also at stake conference President Griffin spoke ans during his talk he had all the missionaries that were there go up to the front of the chapel and he bore his testimony of missionary work and how we are here to help the members with the work and the spirit was so strong it was awesome!! I love President Griffin :) We are excited for thanksgiving!! We already have 3 dinner appts set up :) I love thanksgiving dinner!! im so excited :) I hope you all have a good week and a Happy Thanksgiving :)Love Sister Leifson:)

What a great 2 weeks :)

These past 2 week have been great :) Me and my comp are having so much fun out here! She is doing so good and we have been seeing a lot of success! So right now we have 5 people on date for baptism for Dec 6!! Now most likely they will get moved around a little bit but we are really hoping to help these people get baptized! Dwight is the 80 yr old that goes to the Presbyterian church and he has made so much progress lately! He still hasn't came to church but he will soon :) We had a really awesome lesson with him on Friday and I was really bold but loving with him and told him that our message is urgent and that it is really important that he prays to know if its true and at the end of the lesson he prayed and said " god I know this church has something that no other church has, and I want it... please help me to have the faith to leave my church and join theirs." it was so awesome!! He loves the Book of Mormon and he knows that Joseph Smith is a true prophet he is just scared to leave the church that he has been going to for 80 years. Pray for him!! Also our other date is for Whitney. She has 3 kids and she is a single mom. She loves the Book of Mormon as well and she is so receptive to what we teach her. She will hopefully come to church next week! Roy the less active that came to church is doing great! The elders quorum went and visited him on Wednesday and he was really excited to have them there! They had a really good lesson with him :) He is out of town every other weekend but he wants to come to church when he is in town! We have been finding a lot of new people to teach and the work seems to be moving forward! So I got a new nick name out here haha everyone calls me mom! I must just have like a motherly side to me or something but its really funny. everyone tells me im going to be a good mom one day :)Just like My Mom:) but that's about all the exciting news for the week! Things are going great :) I have learned so much on my mission so far.. especially how important it is to follow the Spirit in all things. Its such a blessing to be an instrument in the Lords hands to help him with his work! I love my mission and I have learned so much! this has been such an amazing experience :) Thanks for all your love and support :) Love Sister Leifson

I love my Mission

This week was a good week! Oh my gosh I just love my companion! She is so excited about the work and she just makes it so fun :) I have gotten along better with her than I have any of my other companions! Im so excited to be here with her until January. So our investigators are doing good! they all just have a problem of not coming to church so we are working on that. I was on exchanges on Wednesday and we were able to talk to a lot of new people and set up a lot of return appointments :) We also got 4 media referrals this week that were actually interested :) So we will hopefully be able to start teaching them soon! So we have a LA who is 93 and she cant come to church because of her health and she has a care taker Tabitha that lives with her that is from Kenya and she is a strong southern Baptist but she sits in on all of our lessons with Sister Honacker and last Sunday Tabitha actually came to church with us! :) I was so happy! and then she asked if she could take me and sister Johnson to lunch on Saturday and she asked us a lot of questions and stuff. We really hope to start teaching her :) On Halloween we had to be inside the church at 4pm so all of the missionaries in the area when to the stake center and played games and stuff it was really fun :) The LA Roy that we met last week texted us yesterday and told us that he wanted to feed us dinner, but he is single so we couldn't go to his house so he said just meet me at Texas Roadhouse at 7 on Tuesday :) we are so excited!! Things are going great here in Tennessee! I am having so much fun :) I have learned so much and have been able to strengthen my testimony of a lot of things that I didn't really understand before!
